The RK Finn Ryan Road School Garden is an accessible garden built in 2014 with a grant from the Northampton Education Foundation and a Lowe's Community Grant. The beds are raised to 16 or 20 inches high. In addition, the garden hosts 2 beds specifically designed to rolled up to by students in wheelchairs. We plant a Three Sisters Garden as part of the third grade social studies curriculum, and everything from okra to rhubarb, raspberries to fennel. Students snack on lots of different fruits and veggies in the garden. In 2017, the school built a beautiful gazebo that serves as an outdoor classroom where we sort seeds, sing songs, and build garden beds.
